The training course “Academic Skills and Professional Practice for Early Childhood Education Leaders” developed at EEU in partnership with Middlesex University was successfully implemented

A cooperation agreement has been signed between Hochschule Bremen City University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and East European University (EEU). The agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Konrad Wolf, President of Hochschule Bremen, and Prof. Dr. Kakhaber Lazarashvili, Rector of East European University.

From May 6 to 8, 2025, a delegation from East European University visited Germany at the invitation of Hochschule Bremen City University of Applied Sciences. During the visit, the EEU delegation held meetings with the President of the University, deans of various faculties, as well as heads of scientific and international departments. The parties agreed to engage in intensive collaboration, including student exchange programs, joint participation in ERASMUS+ initiatives, and the implementation of joint academic and research projects involving research and academic staff.

The EEU delegation was represented by the university’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Kakhaber Lazarashvili; Chairman of the Academic Council, Prof. Dr. David Cherkezishvili; and Head of the International Relations Department, Teona Khachidze.

Significantly, starting from October 2025, EEU students will have the opportunity to pursue their studies at Hochschule Bremen City University of Applied Sciences. Furthermore, both institutions have agreed that Hochschule Bremen will be actively represented at the upcoming international scientific conference hosted by East European University, scheduled to take place from June 24 to 26, 2025.

A three-month hybrid training course on early childhood education, jointly delivered by the Faculty of Education of Middlesex University (UK) and the East European University (EEU), has been successfully completed.

The training programme was developed and led by Professor Nicky Spawls, Head of the Department of Early Childhood Education at Middlesex University. The course was delivered by Professor of Early Childhood Education at the same university and Head of the Early Childhood Education Programme at the East European University, Angela Scollan. Other professors and teachers from the Department of Early Childhood Education at Middlesex University were also involved in the training process: Lourdes Kerr, Lynette Morris and others.

The closing session of the training was opened by the Rector of the East European University, Professor Kakhaber Lazarashvili. The audience was welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences of EEU, Associate Professor Ketevan Aftarashvili.

The training was attended by more than 25 participants from the Preschool Education Department of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, the National Center for Education Quality Development (LEPL), the National Center for Teacher Professional Education, municipalities, preschool, vocational and higher educational institutions;

The event ended with a reflective discussion. Angela Scholan answered the questions of interest to the participants in detail.

The participants of the training course were awarded Middlesex University certificates. They have access to the Middlesex University library and educational resources through an individual electronic page created especially for them.
