As Rector of East European University, Professor Lazarashvili is responsible for the strategic direction and overall leadership of the institution. His role involves overseeing academic policies, ensuring quality assurance, and fostering international partnerships to enhance the university’s global standing. Under his leadership, EEU has expanded its academic programs, increased research output, and strengthened collaboration with universities and professional organizations worldwide. He plays a key role in curriculum development, institutional accreditation, and the implementation of innovative educational strategies that align with global higher education standards. Additionally, he actively promotes faculty development and student engagement, ensuring a high-quality learning environment that meets both national and international educational requirements.

Head of the Physical, Mental, and Social Well-being Scientific Research Centre, EEU (2023–Present)

As the Head of the Physical, Mental, and Social Well-being Scientific Research Centre at EEU, Professor Lazarashvili leads interdisciplinary research initiatives focused on public health, mental health, and social well-being. He oversees research projects that explore the intersection of healthcare, education, and social sciences, aiming to develop evidence-based solutions to contemporary public health challenges. Expert Coordinator of Higher Education for UNFPA in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (2023Present)

In his role as an Expert Coordinator of Higher Education for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Professor Lazarashvili works on advancing higher education policies, particularly in the areas of public health, sexual and reproductive health education, and gender equality. He collaborates with governments, universities, and international organizations to integrate comprehensive and evidence-based educational programs into higher education curricula. His work involves policy development, faculty training, and capacity-building initiatives that aim to enhance the quality and accessibility of education across the region. Through this role, he contributes to aligning educational programs with global standards, ensuring that universities in Eastern Europe and Central Asia are equipped to address pressing health and social challenges.

Professor Lazarashvili’s teaching career includes roles as a Senior Lecturer and Module Leader at Arden University London (2018–Present), Quality Assurance Officer at the University of Greenwich (2018–Present), and Lecturer at Essex University (2019–2020). In these positions, he has delivered courses on public health, healthcare management, quality management, and education leadership while actively contributing to program development and research supervision. His dedication to curriculum design and student mentorship has enhanced learning experiences and academic standards across various institutions.

In addition to his academic leadership, he has played a significant role in national and international accreditation processes. Since 2019, he has been a Higher Education Expert at the National Centre for Education Quality Enhancement in Georgia, providing expert evaluations for accreditation and quality assurance initiatives.
